Description:  A woodland of mature, red-barked Scots pine, with straight grey-green ash over green-leaved hazel and red-berried hawthorn. Lots more species to discover including poplars, field maple and a myriad of plants spread across the woodland 'floor'. A manageable size with the ecological advantage of being part of a much larger woodland planted on a semi-natural ancient woodland site.

Some of the history of the woodland and Gayhurst can be found here, Francis Drake owned the nearby Gayhurst Hall and Estate at one time. Although replanted relatively recently the woodland looks little changed since 1945, the aerial photo from this time can be see on google earth.

There is shared parking between the two gates at the road entrance, a full right of way for the woodland runs from points A - B - C.

Covenant: This precludes shooting and the erection of a residential building.

Boundaries: Starting from the south, bordering the track, to the west alongside the minor road, to the north again alongside the road and to the east a line of red topped stakes.
