Description: The wood is mostly Scots pine with oak and silver birch on free draining soil giving good year round useability making it the ideal woodland to buy. The wood has evolved from the open heathland of the Suffolk Sandlings and is ideally placed near to Woodbridge and close to the particularly fine coast and part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB . It is inside the Natural England designated Hollesley SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) click here 1st 2nd for details and a SPA (Special Protection Area) because of its high nature conservation value, there being plenty of wildlife including fallow and red deer with birds including long-eared owl, hen harrier, woodlark and nightjar in the area. The open areas of heather are particularly attractive to wildlife.

Boundaries: to the north it's the line of gorse and silver birch just inside the footpath, to the west the line of stakes, to the east the roadside.
Viewing: Please telephone Bob on 07793 140 010 to arrange a viewing. Please be aware that when entering the wood after the main gate and after a few yards there is a scaffold tube barrier and trench which should be avoided. This was put in place some years ago and could be removed by a purchaser.
