Description: The woodland for sale is part of the locally known Mitchley Wood a fine mature broadleaved woodland, with big trees having widely spreading canopies. Evenly spaced are ash, sycamore, oak, wild cherry with hazel shrubs below and the occasional conifer. Ancient yews can be seen locally.
The site is gently sloping on the south side of a shallow valley in which Mitchley Hill road runs.
A quality woodland which is classified as being semi-natural ancient woodland by the Forestry Commission. This means there have been trees on this site since at least 1600 AD.
The woodland is protected by a TPO (tree preservation order) and a restrictive article v planning designation. The area is scheduled as 'Green Belt' land.
