Description

Fine mature sweet chestnut coppice woodland where in spring there is the most amazing display of bluebells. There are occasional mature oak and ash on the boundaries and at the eastern corner.

Padd Wood has frontage to open meadowland and is tucked on the edge of a much larger woodland know as the Longbeech Woodlands, the whole area including Padd Wood being Semi-natural ancient woodland.

Accessed by its own private gate directly from Monkery Lane and on level ground makes this woodland ideal for family forestry.

The woodland designated as semi-natural ancient woodland, is sited in the Kent Downs AONB  (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the whole area of woodland is protected by a TPO (tree preservation order) and an article 4 designation.

These are the roadside along the lane; the metal posts and wire along the northwest line and short eastern line and the field edge along the south and west line.
