Olde Wood is approached via a spectacular open ride with an amazing variety of trees such that you could almost be in an arboretum.

A wonderful mix of oak, hornbeam, silver birch, willow, hazel, poplar and ash with the occasional conifer trees it offers the owner great woodland diversity.

A large percentage of the trees are mature and the wood has many spectacular oaks. A haven for wildlife - badgers, muntjac deer and foxes are often seen. A recent survey counted over thirty different birds that inhabit this area.

Both the western and eastern boundaries have wide open tracks, allowing sunshine to penetrate the canopy creating the chance for numerous wild flowers to grow.

There is a tranquil area of open space to the eastern boundary, ideal for a picnics and for children to play! The woodland is further enhanced by areas of thicket giving seclusion yet numerous glades within the wood add yet more variety.

Olde Wood is surrounded by areas of private woodland on two sides, to the north and west is open farmland; conveniently located - just ten minutes from the A12 and 30 miles from the M25. With excellent local services including pubs and a village store within a short drive, mostly level, this is an ideal wood for family forestry.

Because the woodland is so special it has a tree preservation order on it and is protected by the local authority. This simply protects the woodland and does not prevent woodland management - free guidance is available from the Forestry Commission and other organisations.

Access  is along a track with a full right of way from a pair of green metal gates at the roadside. The track runs straight from these gates up to Olde Wood.

There is a covenant, click here to read, on the woodland designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodland.
