Description    This highly desirable woodland is in an enviable location with numerous features and would be ideal for amenity use and small scale forestry. It consists largely of semi-mature oak, ash, hazel, alder and beech, including some marvellous examples of huge beech trees along the eastern edge of the woodland. The trees are spaced in such a way that a good canopy has formed but still allows light into the woodland. There are also some conifer trees along the western boundary which provide contrast and diversity.

An area of wet woodland located in the central northern area of the woodland is dominated by alder and rushes, this being a perfect habitat for amphibians such as frogs. A good location to install a small pond if the purchaser wishes.

A small stream enters Lieutenants Wood from the south-eastern edge and flows through the woodland.

Access  from the quiet country lanes around the idyllic village of Hawkchurch is good and suitable for most family vehicles.

Covenant   There is a covenant, click here to read, on the woodland designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodland.
