Why sell through us?

Because we will be able to sell it for you. We are easy to deal with, will focus on your needs and have 20 years experience in the forestry and woodland market. Most of all we are able to present your woodland well and get it sold.

  • What will we charge if you sell through us? Our charge is 6% of your proceeds on completion. For forestry properties over £100k we will charge you less, scaling our charges down to as little as 3% for the largest sales.
  • Why do we operate a fixed price policy? Our experience suggests that buyers prefer it and are more likely to consider seriously buying your wood on this basis. If after a few weeks interest appears to be low we can agree a price reduction.
  • How do I get my property onto the market? Initially all you need to do is phone us and send a plan. We can agree an asking price and we will get started on particulars and send you an agency agreement form.
  • Can we give references? Yes, please ask and we'll try to give one who would be happy to be phoned. We have sold hundreds of woodlands and have been in the business for 20 years.

What will we do to sell your property?

  • Viewing We will view it and do some background research. We are happy to go on our own or to meet you on site, whichever you prefer.
  • Taking photos We can take these on our first visit but if you have photos you would like us to use please post or email these to us.
  • Writing particulars We will write brief particulars. We want to be genuinely informative to potential buyers and to help them decide if they want to view it. Of course we want to show the property in a good light but we also don't want to risk misleading people as viewing a woodland can be a big commitment of time and travel costs.
  • Boundary marking We will not usually mark the boundaries unless there is some particularly unclear boundary in which case we can put indicative stakes in the ground.
  • Memberships for buyer we will offer to join the buyer up to woodland and forestry organisations for the first year at our cost.
  • Advertising and selling Our main approach is to use our website and mailing list but also to erect a for sale sign on the property. Our policy is to be very responsive to enquiries and where a buyer has viewed the land and wants to meet up we will of course meet them and show them round. Our policy is to accept on the vendor's behalf the first offer from a credible buyer which achieves the price set.
