Tucked away at the rear of a new select housing development Whinny Grove is a fine woodland with many mature trees including oaks, ash, chestnut, cherry and sycamore with hazel, hawthorn and other shrub species.  To one side there's an old pond, perfect to open up and clean out for wildlife. There is a tpo on the woodland but this does not prevent normal woodland management where a Forestry Commission management plan is in place.

Althugh there are public footpaths either side of the wood there are non inside the woodland. Please see plan.

Access   there is a right of way along the new road, Windmill View, to the wood where are are double wooden close boarded gates. This ROW is shown as a green dashed line.

Whinny Grove at Ramsey is just west of Harwich in Essex.
