Bough Beech Wood provides a rare opportunity to own a completely private woodland surrounded by open fields, situated between the Surrey Hills AONB and also the High Weald AONB.

The woodland sits near the northern edge of Bough Beech reservoir and holds a wonderful mix of biodiversity. Mature oak and ash stand throughout the site overlooking an understory of hazel coppice. Holly, birch, beech and a small number of cherry can also be found. There is also a rare multi-stemed wild service tree near the entrance gate.

The woodland stock is well spaced allowing lots of light into the glades and open areas. Bough Beech would make an ideal woodland for camping with friends and family. Numerous wide tracks and woodland paths lead in and around the site, most clearly well used by the local roe deer. We spotted at least 10 on our recent visit, the woodland making ideal cover within the surrounding fields. A large badger sett can also be seen just to the south of the entrance.

Locally, the village of Ide Hill sits to the north and Bough Beech to the south, both with good pubs and within walking distance. There are some excellent local walks around the reservoir and nature reserve, the reservoir also has a sailing club. Further afield, Edenbridge, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells are a short drive and London is just over an hour away.

The District Council is Sevenoaks and the County Council is Kent

Boundaries: The boundary is fenced to the east, north and west. The north and western boundary borders open fields and the east follows a quiet country lane. The boundary to the south is open and marked with green stakes and borders a small area of woodland. Beyond the woodland, the far border is also fenced and also looks out to open land.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a hard track and locked gate. Parking for numerous vehicles is possible within the woodland itself.

Covenant: There is a covenant on the wood designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodlands, click HERE to read and download.
