Ashen Coppice is a beautiful stretch of ancient woodland set within the High Weald National Landscape. It features a charming stream and two large natural ponds, creating a peaceful and picturesque setting.

The woodland has been carefully managed by the current owner for over 20 years. A network of wide rides and access tracks runs through and around the site, providing excellent vehicle access for management, while well-defined paths make it easy to explore on foot.

The terrain is varied but generally easy to navigate. As you move deeper into the woods towards the flowing stream, the ground becomes steeper in places, so care is needed. Lower areas allow for easy crossing, leading to a large pond and open glade on the western edge. This section adjoins open fields, offering lovely views and plenty of natural light.

A track along the southern boundary runs beside open farmland, with several footpaths and rides leading back into the heart of the wood. Another large pond lies near the centre of the site, surrounded by clearings that would make ideal locations for woodland activities or quiet retreats.

The woodland itself is wonderfully diverse, featuring oak, hazel, birch, hornbeam, alder, poplar, ash, chestnut, yew, and the occasional spruce. This mix of species supports a thriving ecosystem, and with open fields nearby, deer are frequent visitors to this secluded haven.

Ashen Coppice truly embodies the essence of an idyllic woodland, rich in wildlife, character, and natural beauty, and represents a rare opportunity for the right buyer.

Nearby, Burwash Common offers a small shop and the Lakedown Fishery and Tap Room are both within walking distance, while Heathfield is just a short drive away with a full range of amenities. The coast and Hastings are also easily accessible, making this an ideal countryside retreat.
