Self-contained and well-fenced Goldeneye Wood has many attractions. A beautiful woodland mostly occupied by oak, silver birch and hazel.  With these are a few ash trees, some willow and hawthorn and most notable in the spring the rhododendron with its magnificent mauve flowers, just enough with the holly to provide shelter but not too dominant to be a problem.

The whole wood is newly fenced providing a barrier to an owners dogs but of little obstruction to the resident wildlife.Walking paths radiate through the woodland giving access to the whole wood.

NB There is a new solid track inside the wood from the wood's gate but this is at present the subject of a planning appeal. If the appeal is rejected the new owners may have to take up the stone and replace with compacted soil. So there will still be access into the wood. The main track from the road to the wood is not affected.

A steam runs alongside the eastern boundary, ownership is along the centre of the stream. Although this is fenced off there is a small gate which gives access to the whole bank.

Goldeneye Wood takes its name from the winter visitor, the goldeneye duck that seeks out large bodies of water such as the lakes adjacent to this woodland where they can stop and feed in this rich environment.

The wider surrounding area is characterised by the natural beauty of rural Hampshire. Nearby Hook provides a range of everyday services for the woodland visitor and in spite of the peaceful location there is excellent access to the motorway network just a few minutes away from junction 5 of the M3 to the south or Junction 11 of the M4 to the north.

Covenant  There is a covenant on the wood designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodlands, click HERE to read and download.

Boundaries the whole wood is fenced, on three sides the fence is the boundary but by the stream the boundary is the centre of the stream.
