Green Foot Wood is an expansive mixed woodland of ancient and replanted trees, set just south of Tunbridge Wells in the High Weald National Landscape.

From the entrance, a private footpath winds along the northern boundary, passing a large gully where sweet chestnut, oak and birch dominate. Further east, Scots pine takes centre stage, adding a striking contrast to the broadleaf woodland.

Paths meander through the bracken to the public footpath on the western boundary, which climbs to open fields at the top of the hill. The ground is largely flat and easy to explore. Along the southern boundary the woodland is more natural, with beech, yew, black alder, larch, ash, holly, oak and hazel all adding to its variety.

Secluded and peaceful, Green Foot offers the chance to escape fully into nature, while also holding potential for financial return for those interested in commercial woodland management.

Locally, the village of Frant is within walking distance along the public footpath, with a basic shop and two good pubs. Tunbridge Wells is just a few minutes away by car, and with easy access to the A21, London is a little over an hour away.

The ward is Frant & Wadhurst and the Council is East Sussex.

Boundaries: The boundary is open W, N and E and borders neighbouring woodland. A public footpath runs along the eastern boundary. S is fenced and looks out to open fields. The boundary is clearly marked with blue paint on trees and posts.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a hard track and two shared locked gates. Parking is possible within the woodland itself.

For viewing purposes, park in the car park to the right of Tate Fencing and timber yard during working hours, as marked on the map. If the metal gate is closed park to the left of the gate but please don't block the access.
At the back of the car park there is a second gate, pass to the side and follow the track marked blue on the map. Take the first right and continue straight on until you reach the entrance to Green Foot Wood.
