Description: The Dingle is a long strip of broadleaf woodland, situated between a residential area to the south and open farmland to the north.  The dingle runs along the sides of the fast flowing Preswylfa Brook which runs in a steep sided ravine along the whole length of the wood.  There are places where the ground slopes down more gently to riverside.  The wood is carpeted with bluebells in the spring.

There are a couple of bridges within the dingle, one carrying the public footpath from the residential area to the western end of the Dingle, the other now being a dead end.

Access: The dingle is just four miles from the M4 at Neath Port Talbot, and has access on foot from public footpaths leading from residential streets on the southern side, and from a path entering from the west.  The owner has often made use of vehicular access from the Gnolls Country Park, coming into the wood along the good track to the north-eastern corner of the dingle, but this does not seem to be formally recorded in the title.

Boundaries: The southern boundary is fenced from adjoining back gardens. The northern boundary is fenced from adjoining farmland. The location of the eastern boundary, near the access from “The Meadows” can be readily identified from the map (see photo 12). The location of the western boundary is not marked, but is just beyond the point where the public footpath from “Wood View” (see photo 13) comes into the wood and crosses Preswylfa Brook.

Sporting rights: Believed to be included in the sale.

Mineral rights: Are reserved to a former owner.

Public footpaths:  there is a public footpath running the length of the northern side of Preswylfa Dingle

Local area: The dingle is near the Gnoll Estate Country Park, formerly serving as the grounds of Gnoll House, but now owned and managed by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.  Preswylfa Brook feeds into the Great Pond in the country park, just a quarter of a mile away.
