Close to Carmarthen and the A40, Penny Bank Wood is in a beautiful area set on the side of the small, wooded, tranquil valley. With the mature larch are young ash, birch, sycamore, mountain ash and hazel. On the ground are low growing ivy and ferns.

Good access is provided via a stone track from the minor road. A path from the two rustic gates gives access into the heart of the wood, where there are level areas ideal for sitting in quiet contemplation!  Along the eastern boundary a track gives access to the level area of a small quarry. Just inside the main gate there is a right to park one vehicle.

A wide variety of wildlife means there is plenty to see, from badgers to buzzards, butterflies to beetles.

The covenant on Penny Bank and the adjoining woods is designed to ensure the area remains quiet and peaceful.
