Pikadole Wood is a fine example of a classic English beech wood set in Ancient Woodland on the North Wessex Downs

Mature well-spaced beech trees dominate throughout, young self seeded holly and hazel can be found at lower levels with the occasional birch and conifer also present.

Wide open glades throughout the wood allow light to pour into the site creating an open and relaxing space while offering numerous possibilities for camping and woodland activities. The ground is flat and dry throughout and easy to navigate. Situated on higher ground, the site enjoys attractive views and plenty of sunshine.

The sunny clearings attract a wide variety of birdlife and insects. Roe, fallow and muntjac deer are frequent visitors, along with woodland hares.

Pikadole Wood offers a peaceful and private setting well away from roads. At just over four acres, the site requires a minimal amount of work making it an ideal starting point for those considering woodland management.

The small village of Enham, with its local shop, and The Oak pub in Smannell are both within walking distance. The market town of Andover is only a five-minute drive away and provides convenient access to the A303.

Ward is Burghclere, Highclere and St Mary Bourne and the County Council is Hampshire
