Clydesdale Wood offers the opportunity to own a manageable sweet chestnut coppice, set within secluded ancient woodland.

A hard-stoned track leads from the main gate, past a large communal wood-stacking area, and winds through the wider Newlands Wood, of which Clydesdale forms part. This access leads directly into Clydesdale Wood, which also benefits from a secondary entrance and parking area.

Sweet chestnut of varying ages dominates the site, with occasional veteran oak also present. At lower levels, hazel, birch, holly, goat willow and hawthorn can be found throughout. Though dense in places, the woodland floor is flat and easy to navigate.

A secluded clearing with a bench sits at the centre of the wood — an ideal spot to set up a base for woodland activity. Further open areas near the southern and northern boundaries offer additional space.

Clydesdale Wood is a great starting point for anyone considering small-scale woodland management, or simply looking to spend more time in nature.

Detling village is just up the road, while Maidstone and Chatham are a short drive away. London and the coast are also within easy reach, both under an hour's drive.

Ward is Boxley Downs and the county council is Kent.

Boundaries: The boundary is open W, N and S. E is fenced and borders an open field. The boundary W follows the access track. N and S border neighbouring woodland. The boundary is clearly marked with blue paint on trees and posts.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a hard track and shared locked gate. Parking is possible within the woodland itself.

Covenant: There is a covenant on the wood designed to ensure the continued quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodlands.
