Bower Wood (part) occupies the eastern side of a picturesque valley within the heart of Exmoor National Park.

The site was clear-felled approximately five years ago and replanted in 2023 with Scots pine, spruce and a mix of broadleaf species. The young woodland has established well and, over time, will develop into an attractive setting with impressive views down the valley towards the stream below.

Access is available from both the upper lane and the main road at the foot of the hill. Some clearance work will be required to reopen access to the stoned track that runs along the spine of the site.

Whether for commercial forestry or recreational enjoyment, Bower Wood presents an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in woodland management. The site offers the chance to shape and nurture a special landscape while watching it evolve over the coming years.

Nearby, the village of Roadwater offers a well-regarded pub within walking distance. The larger villages of Washford and Williton are only a short drive away, as are the coastline and the harbour town of Watchet.

The Constituency is Tiverton and Minehead and the Council is Somerset.

Boundaries: The boundary is open on all sides. N and E follow the road and access track leading up the hill. W follows a stream, S is partially fenced and borders neighbouring woodland.

Access: Access is currently on foot only. There is a central stoned track in place for management purposes.
