Hazel Wood - Sold

Description: It's quite rare to find broadleaved woodland for sale in Norfolk and even rarer close to Norwich tucked away in protected countryside; perfect for popping down to on a summer's evening.

Mature oaks flank the lane and welcome the visitor. Walking in through the opening (the kerb is lower here) across the raised entrance into the woodland you will find oak with hazel beneath;  further into the woodland poplar forms the canopy over more hazel and towards the eastern parts sycamore is the dominant tree with tall straight ash and alder to the north. In spring swathes of bluebells command attention, along with the dogs mercury indicate this is probably ancient woodland.

Access:  This is directly of Intwood Road (a small lane).  At present there is an opening, planning permission has been granted for the laying of a hard surface and installing a gate just inside the wood.

Boundaries: About 30m road frontage, along the northern edge the rail fence, to the south a tree-topped bank adjoining the meadow - this continues as a line of posts which veer north along the other side of the water channel as far as the railway.
