Sunnyside Wood as the name would suggest is a secluded south-facing woodland nestled deep in the Devon countryside.

The private and secluded woodland contains a mix of conifer and native species surrounded by bluebells in season. Spruce and Douglas fir stand alongside hazel coppice, oak, cherry, birch, hawthorn, and a majestic beech reigning over the site's summit. Here you will also find useful storage and shelter with basic amenities for rainy days.

The woodland is easy to navigate, woodland paths guide you through the site, from the shelter to an impressive woodbank overlooking expansive fields to the north. From this vantage point, panoramic views of the valley unfold to the south.

Wildlife thrives in this tranquil haven, with red deer, tawny owls, buzzards, and badgers among its frequent visitors, perfect for nature enthusiasts seeking solace in the peaceful surroundings.

Nearby, the village of Umberleigh, situated along the banks of the River Taw, offers essential amenities including a shop, hotel, and pub. A leisurely stroll to the south brings you to Chittlehamholt, boasting its own pub and village shop. For those eager to explore further, the North Devon AONB and the captivating Devon Heritage Coast are easily accessible.
