Description: A small wood with that romantic feel where nature has been left to manage untouched by human intervention. Fallen branches are host to many species of fungus which in turn render the wood suitable for small insects which are food for the many woodland birds inhabiting the trees. Bluebells thrive and are widespread in spring providing an early burst of colour to be followed by the bright green as the leaves above first open. Oak and ash stand tall over hazel, field maple and hawthorn. The southeast corner is almost impenetrable, this is the site of a long gone pond silted up and overgrown.
Boundaries: Are shown by orange markings, they are; line of posts to the north, along the other boundaries are orange markings on trees topping shallow banks.
Access: The first part of the access track is also the drive to Greenacres House between the double gates and up to the single wooden field gate. The access track turns right at this point. Most of the track is allweather, however some parts are seasonal but there are places to park on the harder parts. The right of way is at all times and the maintenance according to the amount of use made.
Viewing: Viewers must take a set of details (please print out) but may go unaccompanied any time during daylight hours.
Covenant: The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant, click here for a copy, to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodland.
