Longbeech is an extensive site of Ancient Woodland, and within it Cant Wood is quite accessible, yet very private and well secluded with Corsican pine and spruce in the north.

Approaching Canterbury Wood from the south, you will first encounter an open area, where you maybe lucky enough to spot a deer or perhaps a fox journeying across the woodland. This then gives way to a mixed broadleaf area of vigorously growing young oak, hornbeam, silver birch and cherry, all of which would certainly benefit from some gentle clearing around the young trees, by a new owner.

Due to its great value as part of our woodland heritage, Longbeech is designated as a Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI) and the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). There also is a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) to protect Canterbury Wood and the surrounding woodlands, this will not prevent normal woodland management.

Covenant   There is a covenant, click here to read, on the woodland designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodland.
