Holm Oak Wood - Under Offer

Holm Oak Wood is a unique semi-ancient site that ticks all the boxes on the woodland wish list. Huge Scots Pine border the ride to the west, mature oak sit to the south and throughout. From the main entrance, a private vehicle track follows the neighbouring woodland to the northern point. Bearing left, holm oak line a lovely wide ride that leads to the woodland entrance. The holm oak give the woodland a wonderful splash of colour in winter months and in season bluebells carpet the floor. 

Oak standards, birch and hornbeam coppice border the track leading into the woodland itself and as you approach the far end the view opens up to reveal a large pond with a wide grass bank. A raised area with a bench in place adds to the scene, perfect for picnics and taking time to enjoy the abundance of wildlife. The northern section of the wood is quite dense and is a mix of conifer, oak, hazel, birch and ash.

There is good drainage on the south side of the wood and woodland tracks lead all over the site. Numerous clearings and grass areas make it ideal for camping and woodland activities. There are also two sheds and also a caravan included in the sale. 

Holm Oak is a very peaceful and private space with no public access through or near the woodland. Also to note, unusually, there are no Article 4, TPO's or covenants restricting the use of the woodland.

Situated in the beautiful Kent countryside, about 1½ hrs drive from London, the woodland is a short drive to Bethersden and the picturesque village of Pluckley. Pluckley train station is also within walking distance.

Boundaries: All boundaries are open and follow the main ride on all three sides of the woodland.

Access: There is excellent 4X4 access along a private track and wide ride that leads from the private locked gate at point 'A' on the map. There are good parking areas inside the woodland and along all three rides surrounding the wood. There is also permissive vehicle access from point 'B' on Sparrow Hatch Lane, which is solid, flat and can be used with any vehicle.
