Little Bitthams Wood is probably some 170 years old having been formed after Brantridge Lane was routed through a field shown as Four Acres on the 1843 tithe map.  Its name first appeared on the 1910 OS map. A perfect mixed woodland with lots of different tree types surrounding the ponds at the centre.  Recent cleaning of these has released there full potential ready to be stocked with plants and fish. At this time the wood was also thinned and now shows the fine straight form of the maturing timber trees.

In spring the wood is alive with the vivid blue of bluebells.

With mature oak, large poplars and a small plantation of young beech and some Scots pine the wood is a little gem.

To the rear of the wood is Ditton Place now residential apartments but previously a school and before that a large residence. Grade 11 listed it was built at the turn of the last century in Neo-William and Mary style.

Access   is directly off the quiet Brantridge Lane.

Boundaries   are the fence along the roadside, a shallow bank to the south and the field edge to the west.
